How Metal Braces Work
Our practice is always looking for ways to make the orthodontic process less invasive and more efficient for the best results.
To get started, our team will use our iTero digital scanner to capture a full 3D image of your teeth and gums. Once the scan is complete, we can view the images to show you a simulation of your personalized metal braces treatment plan from start to finish. If you’re ready to get started that day, we will also take X-rays and pictures of your teeth.
Next, Dr. Craig or Dr. Alexandra will precisely attach brackets to each of your teeth with special orthodontic glue. Then you’re ready for the connective wires that align your teeth over time.
Once you have your braces, you’ll visit our Redlands or Beaumont office once every 4-8 weeks for an adjustment appointment. During this time, we’ll change your colors, switch your wires, and change the elastic patterns to correct your bite.
How Long is the Treatment Process?
At Chamberlain Family Orthodontics, our patients typically spend between 21 and 27 months in their metal braces. However, other patients with more complex dental issues may wear braces for two to three years.
Even though treatment times may vary, you’ll begin to see changes in as little as a few months.
